GABRIELLE My beautiful baby girl
was born on the 13th of nov 2000 she was 5lbs 15ozs with dark eyes and sandy brown hair.She
struggled from birth, but the doctors were'nt sure what was wrong.They did a scan on her and it
showed that her heart was enlarged and by then she could'nt breath on her own and was on a
ventilator.She was transferred to Crumlin hospital where we met a wonderful team of doctors.They
told us that Nadia had a hole in her heart and that the valves were the wrong way around and that
she would need open heart surgery to save her life.My tiny little girl had open heart surgery She
was in theatre for 4 hours.The longest wait of our lives.The docters were pleased with the surgery
and we were allowed to sit with her in intensive care that afternoon Nadia suffered cardiac arrest
and the doctors managed to save her again, but the bad news kept coming.They discovered that Nadia
had a hole in the roof of her mouth.Her kidneys were fused and there were shadows on her brain.They
sent tests to America and as we waited for results Nadia stayed stable.We learned to tube feed
her.She loved when I sang to her, stroked her hair and held her tiny hand as she fought on and
finally on that aweful day when Nadia was one week old the results were back the doctors told us
that Nadia had a chromosone disorder called trimesy 13 and could not survive.Me and her Dad (James)
chose to take her home to spend as much quality time as we could.We had many special moments with
her trying to fit in a life time.We hoped and prayed for a miracle, but on the morning of the 24th I
could tell that my precious daughter was tired of fighting.I held her close and she went to the
Angels at 12:55 and a piece of me went with her.I was so lucky to have her for 11 precious days and

A Mother's Crown

Heaven lit up with a mighty presence,
as the Angels all looked down.
Today the Lord was placing the jewels
Into my mother's crown.
He held up a golden crown,
as my darling mother looked on.
He said in His gentle voice,
‘I will now explain each one.’
‘The first gem,’ He said, ‘is a Ruby,
and it's for endurance alone,
for all the nights you waited up
for your children to come home.’
'For all the nights by their bedside,
you stayed till the fever went down.
For nursing every little wound,
I add this ruby to your crown.’
‘An emerald, I'll place by the ruby,
for leading your child in the right way.
For teaching them the lessons,
That made them who they are today.’
'For always being right there,
through all life's important events.
I give you a sapphire stone,
for the time and love you spent.’
‘For untying the strings that held them,
when they grew up and left home.
I give you this one for courage.’
Then the Lord added a garnet stone.
‘I'll place a stone of amethyst,’ He said.
‘For all the times you spent on your knees,
when you asked if I'd take care of your children,
and then for having faith in Me.’
‘I have a pearl for every little sacrifice
that you made without them knowing.
For all the times you went without,
to keep them happy, healthy and growing.’
'And last of all I have a diamond,
the greatest one of all,
for sharing unconditional love
whether they were big or small.’
‘It was you love that helped them grow
Feeling safe and happy and proud
A love so strong and pure
It could shift the darkest cloud.’
After the Lord placed the last jewel in,
He said, ‘Your crown is now complete,
You’ve earned your place in Heaven

MY BRAVE ANGEL
Its 9 yrs ago today sweetheart since you faced open heart sugery at 2 days old,the doctors told me and daddy that the only chance you had was to have a shunt put into your heart to buy you some time cause you were to small and frail to undergo the major heart op that you would need,you were taken down to theathre at 8.30 am we waited for hrs for news it seemed like a lifetime the doctors came to us and told us that you were a fighter and the op had gone well ,we sat with you in intensive care thanking god we still had you,we went downstairs to ring realatives who were eagerly waiting on news as we were on the phones an announcment came on calling "the parents of nadia lynch domican please return to i,c,u" we dropped the phones and ran when we got upstairs the nurse told us you had had a cardac arrest and wernt breathing the doctors worked on you for 20mins and you just wouldnt give up and came back to us and fought on beacause you my darling were full of courage and spirit even then i knew you were special you always looked at me with those dark eyes like you knew things i could never know little did i know then we were looking into the eyes of an angel,thank you sweetheart for your courage and for trying so hard to stay with us xxxxxxI LOVE YOU BABY GIRL XXXXXXXXX
